What is the Most Prestigious College Ranking List in the World?

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

It used to be that there were only a few companies that did college rankings. There was a system in place that was rather universal in nature and this was used year after year to understand what made a college good or bad. Though there is still one system in place that has stood the test of time, there are many others that have popped up. The Princeton Review has not only been around for years, but they have stood the test of time when others have not. There are many reasons why the information from this particular college ranking system is the best out there. When it comes time to select a university, this is the list to go with and the research to use.
They Have Rich History
Though many other college ranking systems have come and gone, this particular list has stood the test of time. While others have fallen apart or simply not been kept up with, the information on this list is current. When you get your information from the Princeton Review, you can be confident that there is some great history behind it. There is an excellent reputation behind it and that’s hard to come by in this particular niche.
They Keep Their Criteria Current and Applicable
When the Princeton Review looks at colleges and universities, they are doing so with an educated eye. They know what prospective students and parents alike are looking for and what they care about when selecting a university. The criteria that they use are not only current and up to date, but they are also pertinent. They look into what is applicable and what a prospective student will actually care about. Rather than just ranking criteria that really don’t matter, they do their homework. This is not only why they have been around for so many years, but also why they are the very best ranking system out there.
They Are Who Others Look To
All of a sudden there has been a flood of new websites and other sources on the scene that claim to rank colleges and universities. You really can’t be sure where they get their information from, and unfortunately they often will copy their results from other lists. The Princeton Review, due in large part to their excellent reputation, is the publication and institution that many others look to. Some may even try to copy the information found from them, but there is only one that has this reputation. They are the end all be all and they have worked hard to earn that reputation. When it comes time to select a university, this is the ranking list that you want to consult with.

The way I feel

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Feel physically comfortable from beginning to end. Even before starting to read the exam paper, put all your personal belongings under your seat or on the side. Do not be encumbered or pressured by anything on your lap, at your back or on your sides during the exams. This also discourages cheating. Only your ball pen and a handkerchief may be allowed on your hands during the exam.
Be sure you are wearing comfortable clothes or uniform. Do not wear a tight-fitting one when you take the exams so you will not be bothered by bursting buttons or plunging sleeves. Girls with long hair should put their hair in a bun or hang in pony tail. Or draw it back with a headband so you can read the test papers comfortably and without annoyance. Those with slight coughs or any other ailment should take their medicines before coming to class and if they are strong enough to do so.

Time for my study

Sit up straight. Let your entire weight fall on the seat. Lean on the back of your seat and your right arm on the rest. Your head should not strain forward, sidewards or backward. It should hang loose. Never arch your back at any point of the exam. This will pressure you a lot, impair memory and produce a poor posture. Your posture will not help your brain produce more information. And sit calmly. No swinging of thechair or of your feet, no tapping of your finger or ball pen on the seat. Just stay put and sit still. The exam will be over sooner than you know it.
While going through the test paper, you may or may not feel that your answers are correct. The most uncomfortable feeling is that of not being sure! Don’t give in to the discomfort. Credit yourself for the good try. Just be sure you really do your best — without straining — in tackling the questions. If you really and sufficiently reviewed, you will neither fear nor regret. Time and again, this is being said and cannot be over-emphasized. It is a choice you must begin making or never make. If you are dead- set about becoming an exemplary student, you would have turned every stone in preparing and this alone can make you feel pretty sure you take any quiz, test or exam with flying colors.

Learning

No learning can take place unless you understand what you read or jot down. If it is a new information, ask for clarification. If there are new words, always check them out. Substitute the meaning and then re-read the sentence. Or if something already familiar is written or said in a different or new way, always bother to research or ask the teacher or anouther authority. Never, never be indifferent to what you do not know or understand or what you are not sure of. Do not be content until you learn what you do not know. Develop a scientifically curious mind that always seeks to know and to understand facts. This is one of the secrets of effective studying and of successful students.
-The teacher assigns you to prepare a short report on the history and growth of information technology in the world. Or the threat of global warming. Or preserving ethnic cultures today. Welcome the opportunity. It means that the teacher trusts you to be able to perform the task and deliver the report. If you are given a few days, you have sufficient time to research and write it. If the report is expected the following day, it means the teacher thinks you are a super-student! Try to live within her expectations but do not overtax yourself by doing the impossible;
